So, Steven, how does a chap end up designing sunglasses?

My love of design goes right back to my school days when it was most definitely my favourite subject. I really enjoy all creative projects – for me this is the perfect product, mixing aesthetics, performance and function.

How many sunglasses do you own?

Well, I always wear everything that I have designed to understand what they will be like for the people who actually buy them, so it’s almost an infinite amount! Talk us through the collection…

It’s a trend essentials edit really; we wanted to make it easy for anyone to try something new or stick to a refresh of their favourite shape. Well-designed and great fitting sunglasses should allow everyone into any trend with complete confidence.

We heard that there are some nifty adjustable bits – how do they work?

Well, the metal frames are adjustable at the nose pads; you just hold the frame with one hand and then carefully hold the nose pad piece between finger and thumb and position it as you need for comfort. On plastic frames we adjust the ear tips, so you hold the arm about two thirds back (normally where the shape gets a bit thinner), then with the other hand you can bend the ear tip in, out, up or down. Adjusting ear tips inward or downwards just a millimetre or so will make the frames feel more snug and a bit higher on your nose, outwards or upwards does the opposite.

Who’s the best sunglasses-wearer who ever lived?

You – wear them with confidence, have more than one look, mix up the colours of your frames. That is exactly what the iconic sunglasses personalities always do.

The womenswear pieces have a really glamorous feel – what was the inspiration?

Sunglasses should be a nice little life luxury so we use the best materials for feeling, fitting and comfort. We wanted to offer a good range of shapes and sizes and trends too. Lens colours were specially chosen to reduce sun glare and harmful UV, but also enhance the vibrancy of the colours you see when you wear them.

Sunglasses inside – a stylish yes or a massive no?

Let’s say the rule on this goes: when you are outside in the sun walking with your sunnies on, by the time you have taken three steps inside the sunglasses are off – practice that move! Try it one-handed maybe but don’t drop them! They might be fine, but it’s not a good look.

Why do sunglasses make us all look at least 10% cooler?

Great designed nice fitting sunglasses definitely make us all feel more confident, add some summer sunshine and there is no limit to the feel good factor!
