For a meeting or work situation, I’ve stuck to one colour again for the base ‘uniform’, taking my cue from the colours in the coat. The wide-leg trousers are so lovely – they feel fluid and easy to wear with a flash of bare ankles and heels, but I’d also wear them with trainers and a darker crew neck too.
This is how I would wear the coat for a throw-on, run-around-town kind of look. I love the block ‘uniform’ dressing of a plain, wide-leg, slightly cropped trouser with trainers and a simple top in a matching colour. The coat is comfortable and cool, but equally adds more of a sophisticated, pulled-together look to a relatively simple outfit.
For a more formal look, I’ve matched the coat with this cool, minimal cocoon dress and then brightened up the whole outfit with pops of colour through the accessories. In my opinion, it always looks more interesting if you go for different colours or textures with your accessories, rather than trying to be too matchy-matchy.
