Heading to our Manchester store? Here's what to eat, drink and do nearby.

Awarded one of Britain's first Michelin stars back in 1974, this brilliant restaurant hasn't faltered since. Set aside a whole evening for the tantalising ten course menu whipped up by Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan.

The Whitworth Gallery

After a £15 million makeover this 125-year-old Manchurian landmark has been transformed into a 21st century gallery, opening with no less than ten exhibitions. The highlights? A major exhibition by British artist Cornelia Parker (her only solo UK show this year) and Shand Kydd's iconic black and white photographs of the Young British Artists of the 90s, including Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.

The Lowry

Sitting luxuriously on the banks of the River Irwell, you'll find Manchester's famous five-star hotel. Inside, its incredible spa is the perfect respite after a day of (Jaeger) shopping. Kick back in the relaxation rooms before treating yourself to a signature treatment. Try a revitalising full body massage with hot stones - it's superb. Gents, you'll love it too...

The Lowry Arts Centre

Yes, this steel-clad building houses an extensive collection of LS Lowry's works, but that's not all. Its two theatres play host to more award-winning theatre and arts productions than any other regional venue.
